The Yorkshire Explorer
On Saturday 19th October 2019, we took advantage of the great British weather and made visits to a number of bus enthusiast friendly operators.
We started the day with a visit a pick up from Doncaster, this was provided by Woods Coaches YK04FVZ, this conveyed us firstly to Wilfreda Beehive of Adwick who operate a very nice selection of high specification coaches. From there we rejoined the superb Bova Futura and travelled across to Tetley's Motor Services in Leeds who had more surprises hidden behind their gates which were certainly a nice surprise, then we continued onto Dewhirst Coaches over in Bradford who are a family run business and operate a small but very impressive fleet. Here we boarded their SN16ORW and this transported us across to Wakefield were on arrival we change vehicles once again and joined Gordon's of Rotherham B18WGS which took us on a scenic drive to Meadowhall and this was most enjoyable. Shortly after arrival we continued our day by boarding DW Coaches JIG2164 which transported us to their premises were we took a short break before another changes of vehicles, this time joining LUI9958 for our journey to Powells Bus at Hellaby. After a look around their premises at the ever growing fleet we made our final journey of the day aboard SF05XYZ back to Doncaster.
